Description:
This church was formed in 1839 by ex-members of the Primitive Baptist Church. These members were dismissed because they favored Missionary work, an issue that divided Baptists everywhere. At one time 114 members were enrolled here. This building was built in 1894 on Hyatt Hill and then moved to its present location in 1916. This church served the community for over 130 years. Due to divided loyalties during the Civil War, services were not held during the war.
